How do You Feel Right Now?
In THIS article, you're going to read about how your body and mind are just like a vehicle, because it gives you early signs of what they need to function at their best!
And doing what your mind and body is telling you to do can remove a lot of resistance on your way to becoming the best version of yourself.
"Listening" to what your mind and body are telling you to do can also make a huge positive impact on your overall health and mental strength.
People who don't notice these signs are usually very sluggish and lack focus throughout the week, and procrastinate. A lot.
Below are real life examples of what it means to listen to your mind and body.
Listening to Your body
1. If you're hungry, eat something
2. If you're not hungry, don't eat
3. If you're thirsty, drink water
4. If you're tired, take a nap or go to sleep
Your body is telling you what to do just like a car that makes a knocking noise. Pay attention to how you feel and make an effort to make changes as soon as possible.
- Feed your body food when your body is ASKING for it, so you won't feel sleepy at "odd" times of the day. And feed it the right foods. And just enough food. Too much food can make you feel sluggish.
- Eating when you're NOT hungry can lead to, you know, weight gain (duh). Don't eat because you're bored. Some people binge eat because that's how they react to stress (a topic for another day).
- Cottonmouth and yellow urine (sorry for the visual) can be a sign of dehydration. Drink water. Soda and some juices have way too much sodium and defeats the purpose of hydrating your body that's desperately asking for hydration.
- Sleep is extremely important. People who don't sleep when their body is telling them to can't operate at their full capacity. Many recording artist have had several seizures because they stay awake for 3 days straight.
TIP: Eating and not eating, drinking water and sleeping at the right time (when your body tells you to) will give you the energy and focus you need to be yourself without your behavior easily being influenced by temperature, or what people say to you.
Listening to Your Mind
5. If you're being mistreated in your relationship, leave
6. If you're unhappy about something (anything), let it go
7. If you hate your job, get a new one or try something different
8. Want to be happy? DO what makes YOU happy
You and I both know that an unhealthy or stressful mind can create a negative physiological response in the body. It all starts up top unless you stub your pinky toe on the edge of your doorway.
- Lets see. Why do people stay in a relationship with someone who's mistreating them? There are a few reasons, but one that stands out to me is that they feel like they're not good enough for someone else. That's a feeling of uncertainty, because of all the times they've been put down.
- When was the last time worrying about something made your situation better? Do you remember? I don't either. Let. It. Go.
- Going back a few steps (and then forward again) to become stress free is better than staying at a job that you hate that can cause you to treat your friends or family differently because of how you feel inside.
- Some of us live as caregivers, and we find happiness in making other people happy. And that's fine unless we become codependent. In a few words, codependency is doing things for people that they didn't ask you to do, and you resent them for not thanking you for it (I'll go over this some more in the future).
TIP: YOU'VE WON if you were born with a healthy mind. So many people were born with irreversible psychological issues, or have became sociopaths because of their experiences in life. Please realize how blessed you are, and don't take a mind that's in your control for granted.
Here are a some more things to listen for:
- If you want something, ask
- If you have something to say, say it (nicely, of course)
- If you want it, go after it
- Not satisfied with your life, do something about it
- Need more money? Google, "how to make more money?"
- Don't think you should do it, don't do it
Simplify your life.
