You have a good idea of what you should be doing, but you just don't have the desire to take action.
There are many reasons why you may lack desire, so lets start at the very beginning.
Ask yourself two question (these questions are for you if you're not getting something done):
1. First question: Do you really want it?
If you really want it, a good place to start is to supply your body with the energy it needs to put forth the effort to making things happen (see I'm too Lazy).
If you don't really want it, figure out where the idea came from. Where did it come from? And dig deep within yourself and discover what your core values are. What psychological and emotional needs do you have?
2. Second question: Did your desire come from you or someone else's mind?
If you've come to the conclusion that the desire you have originated from your own mind, take a step back and look at your life as a whole.
Why do you want it?
What's the payoff?
If you feel that someone else has implanted their desires into you, there is something that you need to consider.
Your life belongs to who?
You!
At the end of the day, regardless of reasoning, you are responsible for what happens in your life.
If someone can come along and easily replace your desire with theirs, you may not be sure of what you want, so different things may seem like a good idea to you.
Also...
You may have the desire to not disappoint people that are close to you. If this is true for your life, understand that these desires override your own and can run your life.
You must also understand that you've put yourself in a position where you will only be happy if certain people are happy with you first.
Will you break free of this psychological jail, or will
you continue to defined by your ideology?
Below are common challenges that get in the way. Although they're common, they're not friendly. These challenges can last a lifetime.
Overcoming these challenges can remove years of stress and worry from your life, and get you the results you want in life.
What's in your way?
Becoming the best version of yourself becomes much easier once you become clear on who you want to be, and have a better understanding of why you do the things you do and don't do.
And overcoming self-sabotage becomes easier once you recognize what's holding you back.
